Sharing Craftiness

Since we can't get together as often as we would like, this blog is to help us share some of the things that we create.

Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies

8 TBSP butter, cut into chunks

3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped

1 cup sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

2/3 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup creamy peanut butter

2 TBSP brown sugar

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt the butter and chocolate together in the microwave, stirring often, 1 to 3 minutes. Let mixture cool slightly.

Whisk the sugar, eggs, vanilla, baking powder and salt together in a large bowl until combined. Whisk in the melted chocolate mixture until smooth. Stir in flour until no streaks remain.

Scrape the batter into a prepared 8-inch square pan. Mix peanut butter and brown sugar together. Drop about 10 dollops over the batter. Using a butter knife swirl the peanut butter around the batter some.

Bake about 22 to 27 minutes.

(This recipe easily doubles to 9x13 pan. I like to melt the butter and chocolate seperate too.)

Crochet Hook Holder

I checked out a book from the library called Sew Darn Cute and I love it. There are a lot of ideas that I want to try out like a headband, square bear, glasses case, and a fabric collage but this is the first one I made. I did the crochet hook cozy that holds crochet hooks and a pair of scissors. And Andy gives it 5 stars because I bought the fabric at Goodwill for 50 cents (that's right 50 cents). I only have one crochet hook right now but I want a book for my birthday called Tasty Crochet and then I can expand my crochet hook collection.

Hopefully You are Sitting Down

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am working on knitting (loom knitting) a hat right now. So expect to see a picture of my handy craft soon :)

A photo :)

I decided that since I am not quite as talented as everyone else is with yarn and a needle, that I would post some pictures that I took recently :)

Maddy's socks

These are the socks that Molly knitted. I was supposed to give her a picture but I haven't yet. Plus it adds to our blog.

A Watch

This is a watch I made this weekend. They are really easy to make. The hardest part is picking the beads out. There's just to many to choose from. They don't cost that much to make because once you buy the face of the watch you can just make different bands to go with that face.
I have lot's of quilts I need to make. I found a steal on Moda fabric. I just need some motivation.
