Sharing Craftiness

Since we can't get together as often as we would like, this blog is to help us share some of the things that we create.

More Quilling

Here's some more quilling I did. The one inside the ball was a little difficult. It got easier on the second one. And I just had to have some sparkly gold ones. :) That's Santa holding his toy bag if you couldn't tell. lol This is a really cheap craft to do. I only use a quilling tool (Hobby Lobby), card stock, glue, and a paper trimmer to cut the strips.

Halloween Bags

I'm a little late. lol I couldn't find any trick or treat bags I liked this year so I let the boys make their own.

Quilling

So, I started doing some quilling. Quilling is a paper craft where you curl paper strips and shape them. I'm making some Christmas ornaments. Mostly snowflakes, but I've been trying other shapes too. I'm trying to do some gold glittered one's, but I hate when the glitter falls off so I might have to skip those because I haven't figured out how to keep the glitter from falling off yet. I've tried different gold paper, but there to thick and don't curl well. The top right red one is the first one I did, the poinsettia flower has 3 layers that you can't see well in the picture and the last one is 3D and took a couple hours to make. :)

Winter Mitts

I usually only knit things for other people for gifts, so poor Doug often gets left out when it comes to knitted gifts :(  He asked me to knit him a pair of mittens a while ago, and I just got them finished  for the winter and for his birthday!  Hooray!  Needless to say, he's pretty dang excited about them.

I Knitted My First Sock!!!

So, I thought I would never knit a sock but I wanted to knit these little socks for ornaments for my christmas tree. This was the first one I knitted and it will probably just be thrown away because it has some pretty ugly gaps between rows. Each person in my fam will get one with their first initial on it (immediate family OK, I'm not that fast!)We have a great tradition of getting a new ornament every year and this will save us money because I can use scraps of yarn.

Here is my clock collection so far. I got three new ones this year for my birthday. The red one is from Andy, the knitted one from Molly, and although she doesn't really know it the tire one is from Judy which I got at a swap meet with the money she sent me.
